Individual Counseling & Skill Development (One-on-One)
Description: One-on-one sessions with a psychologist begin with an assessment of the child’s strengths and areas for development. Regular Parent Meetings (for Youth Clients)
Description: Monthly check-in meetings are conducted between the psychologist and the child’s parents to evaluate progress, address any challenges, and determine appropriate next steps. These sessions provide parents with insights into the skills their child is acquiring and strategies for effective reinforcement at home, while also offering an opportunity for parents to share observations and concerns.
Key Objectives:
- Maintain ongoing parental engagement and ensure they are well-informed regarding their child’s development
- Promote consistency between strategies used at home and those implemented within the Centre’s programs
- Equip parents with practical tools to effectively support their child at home
Format: 30–60 minute sessions, available either in person or virtually, and typically scheduled on a monthly basis.
Key Objectives:
- Deliver prompt intervention and de escalation during crisis situations
- Promote safety and stabilization for youth experiencing distress
- Outline clear next steps and coordinate follow-up support
Format: Services are offered on an as-needed basis with flexible duration. Interventions occur at the point of crisis (e.g., same day response), with arrangements made for continued support following the initial engagement.
Crisis Intervention Support (On-Demand)
Description: Immediate, individualized support is provided to children or adolescents experiencing acute emotional or behavioral crises. The primary objectives are to stabilize the situation, ensure the safety of all involved, and develop a comprehensive plan for ongoing care and access to relevant resources.
